“Until I know my truth” is a live performance and two-channel video diptych loop, originally lasting approximately two hours.

Performer Lynn Barr navigates a purgatorial threshold—between beginning and end, Earth and void, life and death.

Shortly after the death of her husband, composer Albee Barr (whose music accompanies the piece), Lynn explores this dangerous and numinous space with vulnerability and strength.

Audience members influence her path as she seeks the light, before ultimately surrendering to the darkness.

The work is a Butoh-inspired dialogue between the tangible and the incorporeal.

Now, a decade later, Lynn is in her eighties and battling advanced Alzheimer’s. This video documents her last live soloperformance.
