This looping video explores the burnout of academic life, critiquing systems that demand constant intellectual output while offering little in return.

Books—repositories of knowledge—are inoculated with fungi, decomposing into mud and sludge.

Central to this decay is  La Raza Cósmica  by José Vasconcelos, a canonical text once seen as visionary but now recognized for its toxic racial discourse.

This decomposition, both literal and symbolic, metabolizes national myths and colonial legacies.

The video loops endlessly, mirroring the exhaustion of knowledge workers trapped in exploitative cycles of production.

It asks:  if soil must be replenished, shouldn’t our intellectual systems also nourish life instead of depleting it?
