Empire has historically used its power to fix bodies in place and in history—through colonialism, imperialism, nationalism, and globalization.

This video performance emerges from a process that seeks alternatives beyond the body, focusing on play as a form of knowledge and connection.

Engaging with communities marked by histories of extermination, the work emphasizes ritual and collective healing.

It unfolds in two parts: the prologue at the former site of the De Ontdekker statue in Suriname, and the epilogue at Puebla’s Zócalo in Mexico.

The piece centers play as a grounding force in imagining new pathways toward shared futures.
