About the Work:

The work is a stop motion video art that shows the process of discovery and creation of personality through deformation and physical transgression of the body. I use “subjects” that I shape and manipulate to represent the different stages of this journey. My intention is to provoke a reflection on how the body is a means of expression and self-knowledge, and how physical contortion can generate aesthetic contortion, and vice versa. I want to question the limits and norms that society imposes on us about our appearance and our identity and show that we can reinvent ourselves and transform ourselves ethically and aesthetically as we wish.
