I propose an urban intervention in NYC—a self-sacrificial performance embodying the grief and sorrow I carry as a survivor.

I search for a socially vulnerable area, obtain used shoes worn by local women, put myself in their place, trace a path, lower my head to the ground, place my hands on the pavement, and walk for as long as I can bear it.

The spirit of this action is one of remembrance and resignification.

Caminata is a repetitive bodily movement—forward, head down, using only hands and feet for support, never breaking that posture.

This performance is dedicated to those who, inhabiting suffering bodies, continue walking.
